- 1 tbsp Dry yeast
- 1/4 cup Oil
- 300 ml warm water
- 2 tbsp Castor sugar
- as required Little milk for just brushing
- as required Little butter for giving glaze
- For corn garlic stuffing
- 1 small cup Boiled corns (I used the frozen ones)
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- 2-3 Garlic finely chopped
- As needed coriander finely chopped
- 1/4 TSP Ginger paste
- as per taste Salt
- as per taste green chillies
- as needed Grated cheese of your choice
- 1/4 cup paneer cubes
- 1 tbsp Tomato sauce
- 1 Bit of cream (optional)
- 1 tsp Mixed dried herbs
- 1 tbsp Oil
Steps to make to make Corn garlic sunflower bread
- For stuffing, in a pan add oil and add onions, saute,then add the garlic,saute till light golden. add rest of the left ingredients. One by one toss and check the seasoning. Keep aside.
- Out of 300 ml water take 100 ml warm water. The water should not be extremely hot,nor it should be very light lukewarm.
Now mix in sugar and yeast in it.Mix it lightly and keep it covered in warm place for 5-7 mins. You will notice that the mixture is little frothy. It means the yeast is activated and your bread will rise & become fluffy. - Now seive together maida, milk powder,salt. Make a well in the center and put in yeast mixture, knead it into a dough form by adding the left over measured warm water. Now on a clean platform put the dough and add oil slowly and knead the dough. By stretching and knocking it to make a smooth elastic dough.
Take a deep bowl grease it,apply oil on the dough and keep it in that bowl. Shape it like a round ball,cover the bowl with a cling wrap nicely & keep the dough to ferment in warm place. - In summer it takes less time to ferment like 1 hr-1.5 hrs. In winters it takes at least 2 hrs to ferment.When it gets fermented remove it with greased hands & spread little dry flour on the surface and again knock it to remove the air bubbles. Again make a ball. Divide this dough to make different varieties of stuffed breads,focassia,. burgers etc.
- For making sun flower bread,
cut and divide 1 big part of the fermented dough into 2 equal small parts with the help of knife keep the rest covered. Roll each into big rounds like thick roti. Grease the baking plate on which this bread is to be baked. Spread one on the plate. - Put the stuffing in the center and with a gap put rest of the stuffing around that center portion in circular ring form.I took help of 1 mini bowl to make a clean center.
- Now layer it up with other rolled roti press all around. Press in the center,keep a mini steel katori in between.Now with the help of sharp knife start making petals of sun flower. Let the center portion be in tact and covered with the mini katori. Cut, twist & raise it to form petal.When it is done all around,remove the center mini steel bowl.Your sunflower bread is ready to get baked. Now heat the oven for 1p minutes at 180 degree Celsius. Just before baking milkwash your bread.
- Now bake this for 20-25 min at 180 degree Celsius till light golden.Now apply butter on it for a glaze & remove it from the baking plate to serving plate when it is hot only. Enjoy this with ketchup or your favourite dip !!
